"Time Passages"

      | In his painting “Time Passages”, Greg Benson takes us back to a quiet lakeside town. For the careful observer there are many stories within this nostalgic scene. A father stands with his daughter and looks up at the sky enjoying the cool morning air. The store keeper prepares for a new day as the morning sun shines through the trees. As the autumn leaves fall, it's a perfect day for an end of the season boat ride. A hundred years ago, this small town may have looked very similar except people would have come to town with a horse and buggy, (hidden image on the left). Instead of a gas station, there may have been a livery stable with a blacksmith, (hidden image in the station roof). Instead of a working town, women often worked all day at home, (woman with spinning wheel on the right). Even though times change, people still need a place to come together to share ideas and appreciate each other's skills. |
